Here are a few websites related to spelling that I'm mentioning in workshops I'm doing at the moment. So for anyone who didn't have time to write them down:
Writing for an audience - students make Glogs (digital posters - see www.glogster.com) about their home cities and share them with others around the world: Greetings from the World
This site is great for Look Say Cover Write and Check:
Spelling City - about the best website for learning spelling that I've ever come across:

Johanna, I was thrilled to see that you recommend Vocabulary and Spelling City www.spellingcity.com . It is one of my favorite websites and my class uses it almost nightly. For years I just had the free membership and I loved it, but last year I acquired a premium membership and my class has never been the same. I am able to assign individual and group assignments to all my students. My students really enjoy Unscramble Words http://www.spellingcity.com/unscramble.html (free) and Speedy Speller (Premium Membership). With Speedy Speller they compete with each other for speed and spelling accuracy, some mornings they come in boasting about beating another classmate’s highest score. It is thrilling to hear them get excited about spelling!

nice blog post ..thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteI am a 2nd grade teacher and I use www.spellingcity.com in my classroom daily. I love it because I can create leveled lists for my students to use at school or at home. I am super excited that I can still track their progress this summer:) I am off to check out the other sites you mentioned! Thanks for sharing!
